Panattoni has completed a custom-fit facility for innovative optical fibre manufacturer, Corning Incorporated

Panattoni, European industrial real estate market leader, built and is leasing a new, custom-fit facility to Corning Incorporated, the inventor and world’s leading manufacturer of low-loss optical fibre. The facility is located in Mszczonów, a city near Warsaw, and is more than 20,000 sqm. It was customized to meet Corning’s specific manufacturing requirements for low-loss optical fibre production and to meet  demand for high-speed connectivity in Europe and surrounding regions.

Panattoni, with its dedicated BTS team, tailors solutions for clients and their technologies – even the most advanced ones like Corning. Corning invented low-loss optical fibre in 1970. Now enormous amounts of data, phone calls and video can move around the planet on optical fibre networks.

“We worked with Panattoni to develop a facility that can house our state-of-the-art manufacturing process and meet our precise manufacturing specifications,” said Corning plant manager Mariusz Bielawski. “Our new facility enables us to continue delivering optical fibre to our European customers at a time when demand is surging for 5G, broadband, and the cloud.”

This new facility meets Corning’s strictly defined environmental, safety, and manufacturing optimization parameters, including a high-bay manufacturing area, HVAC, and enhanced process services.

Marek Dobrzycki, Managing Director, Panattoni commented on the realisation of the high-tech factory for Corning: "This project is an exciting challenge for us. The production of state-of-the-art optical fibres requires a very specific working environment; however, tailor-made projects are our speciality, so we delivered a product that meets the customer's expectations. The excellent location near Warsaw and key roads also creates excellent conditions for further development."

The location in the Warsaw region, only 40 minutes from the capital centre, facilitates access to qualified staff and scientists. The proximity of the A2 motorway leading to Berlin and the S8 route towards Prague in the Czech Republic is also significant. Expressways and the short distance to Chopin Airport make this an advantageous location for Corning Optical Communications. 

Panattoni is a leader of the industrial real estate market in Europe and has become a specialist in the realisation of production facilities in recent years. Panattoni has delivered factories for many international companies such as Weber, BSH, Leviat and Danfoss. Recently, the developer completed an expansion for a European hygiene products manufacturer from 26,000 to 70,000 sqm, and a plant expansion for global automotive manufacturer Kongbsberg, in Brześć Kujawski. In addition, Panattoni is developing further factories, including one for a world leader in the white goods and electronics industries.
