News from Poland—Business & Law, Episode 33: Replacing the right of perpetual usufruct with the right of ownership

In this episode of "News from Poland - Business & Law" Radosław Wiśniewski will tell you about the government’s plans to replace the right of perpetual usufruct of real estate with the right of ownership.

This April, the Polish government has submitted a bill to Parliament that, if passed, will enable perpetual usufructuaries to acquire the ownership of land held in perpetual usufruct. This is meant as a way of purging the Polish legal system of the perpetual usufruct right. But will this new law actually do that? And is the proposed mechanism worth applying? This topis will be discussed by Radosław Wiśniewski, PhD, adwokat, associate in Wardyński & Partners' Real Estate Practice.

Konrad Grotowski, host of the programme, gives an update on the Polish economy.

News from Poland—Business & Law is a synthesis of important current events in the Polish economy and changes to Polish law, especially those that may concern management board members and affect the risk of serving on boards.

The programme is intended for foreign directors of Polish companies, foreign investors in Poland, and their foreign advisers.
